the TITLEY PHIL BAROQUE (MOSTLY) ORCHESTRA

The members of the orchestra

are a friendly bunch with good sight-reading skills, a keen interest to learn and prepared to practice between rehearsals

They meet, on a weekly basis, with a shared love of exploring the baroque and, occasionally, the classical repertoire and to learn the techniques required to play it stylishly - often from facsimile..

The orchestra is comprised of string players, some of whom play on gut strings with baroque bows, together with double reed and continuo players - who are often required to read from figured bass..

David Hatcher, director

is well known in the historically informed early music world, both as a performer and as a tutor.

He has a huge breadth of knowledge of the repertoire and is an entertaining, informative and exacting director..

You

would be most welcome to join the orchestra for a free taster session if the above appeals!
